NC Standard Course of Study

The Ground Issue of Foothills Kids Magazine corresponds with the following parts of the NC Standard Course of Study.
13rd Grade
**In addition to the following topic-specific curriculum covered in this issue of Foothills Kids, the passages presented to the student and learner will help with the English Language Development Standards 4 and 5 (communication in science and social studies, respectively). African-Americans during the Revolution

This issue does not address slavery, but there were approximately 10,000 enslaved people in North Carolina at the time of the Revolution. We are including some resources here in the event that you would like to cover this topic in your class.
